The Tower Society

Ursinus College Tower Society

For well over a century, the Bomberger Hall tower rising above campus has symbolized the ideals and aspirations of generations of alumni and friends. Funded by the college’s first benefactor, Robert Patterson, this iconic Ursinus landmark remains a vital part of the student experience and serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring impact of philanthropy.

The Tower Society was established by the board of trustees in 1991, on the 100th anniversary of the dedication of Bomberger Hall. The society recognizes and honors those generous alumni and friends of the college who have included Ursinus College in their estate plans. The planned gift agreements and charitable bequests of these selfless supporters have laid the foundation for more than 150 years of academic excellence and life changing liberal arts experiences. It is a foundation on which the college continues to build today and will serve the needs of students for generations to come.

Membership in The Tower Society is available to anyone who has established and provided documentation for one of the following:

  • a charitable gift annuity;
  • a charitable remainder trust;
  • a charitable lead trust;
  • a bequest or other arrangement through their will;
  • an insurance policy where ownership was transferred to the College, and the College was named owner and beneficiary; or
  • a gift using another planned gift strategy.

These planned gift and bequest donors receive special recognition as members of The Tower Society, are invited to special donor events, and receive a lapel pin to signify their membership.
